Does anybody enjoy getting a smog check? No. It's not on the level of a root canal, but it does rival an afternoon at the DMV. The Smog Man makes it tolerable. I've taken about ten cars here and have always had a good experience. Get a coupon or groupon, a latte, and your phone and spend a little time here and check the chore off your list. The people have been knowledgeable, kind, and efficient. You'll be on your way in no time. Great place.

THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO FOR A SMOG TEST !!!! THE PRICE IS REASONABLE, AND THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS FANTASTIC !!!! THESE PEOPLE WILL BEND OVER BACKWARDS FOR YOU. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND SMOG MAN. :)

Best time ever very friendly didn't feel like i was at a shop and was offered lunch couldn't have asked for a better experience.

15 minutes out of my Saturday for $48 out the door with coupon, no appointment needed for me on this day. Enjoyed chatting with the gents, who are also car enthusiasts. Probably the best smog check experience I've ever had, I was quite impressed.

I discovered this place on Yelp and saw that they had a discount for checking in and also a Groupon available! I called them this morning for a smog check and there was no wait first thing in the morning. They encouraged me to purchase the Groupon before coming in so that it could be processed in time. The place is a little difficult to find but they did have a little sign indicating their location. The space is tight, but it's not so bad if you come early or when there is no wait. I was in and out. The service was quick and my car passed the smog test. After the smog test, they electronically file the results with the DMV. They also print out a copy for you to take with you. In addition to the Groupon, I paid $8.25 for the processing fee. I just filled out the stub and check for the DMV so let's hope I get my sticker in the mail! The folks were really chill and nice. I also liked that they had some kind words posted on the shop walls!

With the help of Kay and his experienced team, I received hasty and thorough results. My car was having significant troubles passing smog. After failing the smog test multiple times, I took the car into multiple shops that tried and failed to fix the unknown issue. Luckily I found The Smog Man shop. Kay personally took the time to give me quality service unparalleled to what I've experienced. After devoting an exceptional amount of effort he found the problem. A problem that multiple other technicians and repairmen couldn't find. Thanks to Kay and his expert staff my car is ready to hit the road!

Have tried a bunch of smog stations across San Jose over the years and finally found a keeper. Been here twice now and always fast, courteous and good prices (they will price match and also typically have groupons etc). Stop looking around and just come here for your smog needs.

These guys & gals did an awesome job. Had me out in 15 minutes on a SATURDAY afternoon! I used the groupon deal they have and they honored it with no fuss. I'll be taking all my vehicles here i the future. In fact, I took two of them there today! Both passed (one is 1999 & the other a 2000) so they don't try to make money off people with older cars by failing them and selling them gas caps and such. Recommended to my own family. A+
