This is a great place for a Smog test. Friendly staff, affordable and quick service! I tried to book an appointment but was told to come back at any time. The facilities are very clean and the waiting area is very comfortable.

Great place to get your Smog Test done. Accurate, fast and no wait time. Crews are extremely friendly. When I brought my car to smog test, they found out my battery was not register ; therefore smog test would not pass. They asked me to return in a week to redo for free! Thank you :)!!!

I came to them back in September 2016 when I revived my current daily driver and realized I was in such a rush to get my vehicle up and running I never left them a review. I will say their current location compared to previous one is much, much nicer, and you definitely won't miss it since it's a corner building. I rarely venture into downtown san jose, I looked at their shop location on Google Maps, found it instantly as soon as I turned off from Bird onto Auzerais. I will definitely come back again, they've got the best deal around compared to other smog shops that are not gas station smog stations (I don't trust gas stations, just personal preference). I found a Groupon deal for a certain percentage off original price at the last second and they honored the deal, I didn't have to buy it beforehand so that definitely saved me, thanks to them. I had some free time on my hands so I went midday during the week (Thursday afternoon at the time of this posting and had smog check done at noon). I remember Kathy from my first visit, she's a super friendly lady, gave me all the info I needed both over the phone and in person. I think it took around 20-30 minutes, not bad at all considering some places I've been to takes about 45 minutes, and the technician was also incredibly nice and knowledgeable. I am definitely recommending this place to anyone who lives locally in San Jose and those who are willing to drive out here because they took awesome care of me. Thanks Smog Man!

This place was amazing! I came in and they were honest, fast, great customer service. The waiting room was clean and inviting. My 6 yr old Daughter enjoyed the free throw back table top video game to play on as my smog check took only 10 minutes! "K" and his staff, the 2 young ladies at the desk were very pleasant to deal with. I would highly recommend this shop for anyone needed a smog check or repair.

Needed a Smog Test and was a little unsure if this name is the place I had been to before.They have also have moved since my last Smog Test. I called to ask what the wait time would be and they said it's based on a first come, first serve. I happen to check Groupon and thanks to my niece mentioning that most places will honor a posted discount; I asked them if I had to purchase the Groupon and they said they would honor the price. I was happy to see it was the place I had been to before. There was one car ahead of me and I was in and out on my late lunch within reasonable time. Great service! I highly recommend this place!

I told them I was there for a smog certificate. I was asked a few questions and they had me fill out the work order. They also helped me check in on Yelp so I could get a $20 discount! After that they immediately begin to work on the smog test, andwithin 20 minutes I was finished and on my way. They don't give you the smog certificate directly, it is electronically sent to the DMV. I went online the next day to finish my car registration renewal, and in a few days I should have my sticker for my car. This process could not have been easier, and $48 the price was very reasonable. I highly recommend smog man test and repair. Booked an appointment online on Friday evening for the next morning. Got an email confirmation of the appointment first thing the next day. Was checked in right away when I arrived. The receptionist was friendly and fast. The smog check was done and I was on the road again in less than 20min. The lobby was clean and there was a large flat screen tv to keep me entertained. Quick, clean, and friendly - that's all you can ask for!

I brought my truck in without an appointment to get a smog check. It was mid-afternoon on a Wednesday. It was easy to find, clean, and highly professional with very comfy couches. It was about a 10 minute wait to start the smog. I had failed a few weeks earlier with another smog shop and they advised me that there was no reason why the other shop should have failed me. The smog only took about 15 minutes. I talked to the owner K and he gave me some great information and was a stand-up guy. This was the best smog experience I have had. I highly recommend The Smog Man!

This was a great experience, from start to finish. I called ahead per the Groupon instruction and was told no appointment was necessary but given some insight into low/peak times. I went down before the lunch rush and I was in and out in about 10 minutes maximum. The receptionist was pleasant and I chatted with the owner while the smog check was performed. This could not have gone any smoother or quicker. This is a great example of supporting a small local business over a large corporation shame. I will refer friends and family and recommend them without hesitation. (As an aside, the owner has a awesome collection of car related Metal signs covering the waiting room and workspace. Worth stopping by to check out, even if you're not in the market for their services today :-) One more bonus is that I realize while walking in the door that I left my wallet and credit card at home :-(. .... but they take ApplePay ,so I was able to pay using my phone. Yet another plus sign in their favor.)

Nice friendly service. Walkins accepted. Clean large lobby. Price is very reasonable with yelp checkin $40.
