The smog man IS the man! Very friendly and professional. Quick too. I was very impressed.

Finding it: The shop is set back at the end of a driveway sandwiched between two buildings so watch for the Smog Man sign on the sidewalk to know where to turn in. Plenty of parking outside, one testing bay inside. The shop itself is painted in all white, walls and tools are kept sparkling clean. There's a tidy waiting room which I did not have time to sit in because the smog test was taken care of so quickly! The owner Phillip is amiable, very competent and fast. I was in and out of there in less than 15 minutes. He had very kind words about my old rickety car, too, I left his shop feeling better about my car than I have in a long time.

After reading all the great reviews for The Smog Man, I decided to give it a shot - and I'm glad I did. The shop is tucked away and you can drive right past it if you're not on the lookout; however, the facility itself is extremely clean and well maintained. The owner-operator is a great guy, very easy going, and quite a conversationalist. Although it was a one-man-show on the day I stopped in, I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Before going to The Smog Man, my car had failed smog on a technicality at a shop in Santa Cruz (I have a JDM engine and the bozo tech couldn't figure out how to find the ignition timing on a J-Spec engine). The Smog Man had no trouble finding the timing mark, and my car passed without any problems. Be sure to visit the web site and print out the $20 off coupon before going in.

As the other reviews have stated, it was quick and easy. With the online coupon the Smog Man deserves an extra star.

I've heard of Smog Man from yelp and decided to check it out. Phillip is the owner of the establishment and he is super cool. Laid back, professional and does his best to make his customers happy. I had a bit of an issue with my check engine light and he was super nice about it and even after my 3rd visit I had to make to get smogged. It's definitely worth stopping into Smog Man.

Just another great review for the Smog Man. We found this place through yelp and have to pass on the good word. The first smog check I've had done and it took about 15 minutes. It was easy and fast. He even told us a little about our car and recommended a couple mechanics. So this is the place to go for a quick deal on smog!

Super fast (call ahead if you want to make sure there's no wait) and friendly service. By the time I finished returning a few phone calls for work, my car was done. And as Ryan F. said below, I left laughing too. I also got some good info about the type of car I had, which you don't usually get when you have your car smogged. It's nice to see that extra bit of service when you're not expecting it. I also loved that I got a discount for mentioned Yelp! That kind of treatment will pay for itself because I'll be a return customer and will definitely recommend Smog Man to others. Phoned, indicated I could come in at anytime. Arrived, 1 car in the garage. Waited 5 mins, my car in, 10 mins later, my car out. He did a fair amount of poking around and checking under the hood. Everything passed. Quick, easy, clean, not too expensive. Will be back.
